Hackney 3 finished their London League campaign in style with a 6-2 win over GLCC. There were wins for Davide Segat on debut, Matthis Lataille, Paul Murphy, Gerald Howgate, Ramon Joe and Mark Rivlin. Cono Ariti and Adam Rivlin lost. It's been a great season with so many players turning out and a great team spirit. Next season I really want to push for promotion. We can do it!
The world chess championship is underway in Sofia, Bulgaria. Score is currently 1 win each

Under the astute leadership of Shaun Tracey, Hackney 2 secured promotion to Division 2 of the London League in style, hammering Wanstead 2, 9-1, with eight wins and a draw. Shaun Tracey's team have enjoyed a great season losing only once and with a game score of 88/120. Well done Shaun and the team!
Hackney Minor are through to the semi-final of the National Club Plate after a convincing win over Thurrock; wins for Shaun Tracey, Mark Rivlin and Gerald Howgate and a draw by Maria Gonzalez-Tracey secured a win by 3.5-0.5.
Hackney 3 narrowly lost 3.5-4.5 to Metroplotan 4 in London League Div 4; wins by Mark Rivlin, Paul Murphy and Maria Gonzales-Tracey were not enough with Geral Howgate picking up a draw and the rest of the boards losing.
A close match that could have gone our way with a bit of luck.
Next time folks!
