Hackney kept their chances of winning Middlesex Division 1 by winning again, this time against West London, by the slenderest of margins 4.5 - 3.5.
As usual, we did it the hard way, but managed to sneak out a win in the end. Congratulations to our top three boards especially - Richard Bates, Bob Eames and John Reid, who all won their games quite comfortably.
We are currently on 9.5/11 match points with 59.5 game points and 3 matches left to play, including King's Head away on Thursday the 1st of May.
King's Head are on 11.5/12 match points with 67.5 game points and 2 matches left to play - Metropolitan and us. With Metropolitan facing relegation, anchored firmly in last place, and almost certain to lose to King's Head, we will need to not only win every match - including the final match - but we will need to snag as many game points as possible.
As things stand, the season is nicely set up for a big climax on the 1st of May. Assuming, that is, of course, that we keep winning...
